Beat Lease Licenses VS Exclusive Licenses. Hello, Flooded Beats here. Today I want to talk to you about a significant thing that every rapper should be aware of. So, we will talk about the differences that there are between beat lease licenses and beat exclusive licenses. But, first of all... What are Beat Licenses? A beat license is a contract that gives you the rights to exploit a music composition from another author commercially. So, it's a contract that guarantees you certain rights to use a determined beat instrumental for your record. Ok, now that you know what a beat license is we can start talking about the main topic of this post, beat lease licenses vs. exclusive licenses. What are Beat Lease Licenses? A beat lease license is a license that gives you limited rights on a determined instrumental. In case it is a lease license. Usually, you will be granted those rights in a non-exclusive way. Nowadays it's a pretty standard and relatively cheap way to purchase an instrumental for your track. Lease licenses usually have limited time duration and other kinds of limits but they are way cheaper than expensive, exclusive licenses. Why are beat lease licenses cheaper than exclusive licenses? Beat lease licenses are a lot more convenient for independent artists because the producer will maintain the beat ownership and he could also sell that beat to another artist as well. This is the main reason for the price difference. But it isn't the only difference. Indeed, as I said earlier, you will be granted limited rights. What does it mean Limited Rights? Limited rights mean that any lease license you purchase will grant you the possibility to exploit the original composition in certain limits. For example, most beats lease licenses have: A limited number of stream and views you can make with your final record; A predefined time duration of your rights to exploit. (If it expires, you will have to purchase another license to keep using the record commercially) A limited or unlimited number of sales that your record could make. These are the most common limits that come with lease licenses. ** If you are searching fire beats and you would like to purchase a beat lease license I suggest to you to visit my beat store now, you will love my beats! ;)** Ok, now we can talk about exclusive licenses. What are Exclusive Licenses? Exclusive Licenses as said in their name, in opposition to the lease licenses, will give you exclusive rights to exploit the original beat composition. This means that you will be the only rapper or whatever you are to have the legal right to use that precise instrumental. Also, in opposition to beat lease licenses the exclusive licenses usually will also give you the ownership of the beat instrumental itself. Usually, Exclusive Licenses are way more expensive than beat lease licenses, and now we will see why. ** If you are searching fire beats and you would like to purchase a beat lease license or exclusive license I suggest to you to visit my beat store now, you will love my beats! ;)** Why are Exclusive Licenses more expensive? It's pretty clear why Exclusive Licenses are more expensive than lease licenses but let's take a look at it. So, the first reason is that the producer will give you ownership of their work, and they will not be able to sell it again, to another rapper. Also, having the exclusive rights to exploit the beat give it a lot more value. Another point in favor of Exclusive licenses comes without limits in oppositions to lease licenses. Lease Licenses VS Exclusive Licenses what's the best? There is not a real answer to this question. It depends on your needs and budget. Here's what I suggest you: If you are starting and you don't have a big budget, you should buy lease licenses because they are a lot cheaper. If you buy a lease license and the tracks blow up, you could always contact the producer and make a deal to get exclusive rights on the beat! In opposition, if you are an established artist and you do have a budget I suggest you purchase exclusive licenses. The best thing that you should do in this situation is actually to buy custom beats based on your needs. I do offer this services also. If you are interested in having fire custom beat licenses made on your requests, take a look at my application program. (It won't be cheap, but I ensure you will get what you will pay for it. Differences between Beat Lease Licenses and Beat Exclusive Licenses

Hello guys, today we are going to talk about beat lease licenses. I'm going to tell you something that could seem a bit strange, but if you do think about it, you will see that all the things that I'm going to say have sense. I'm ready for some hater to start insulting me, but I don't mind, I'm sure a lot of you will understand. Here is the controversial sentence: "My beat lease licenses are still exclusive." Ok, I know it seems strange to say, keep reading to understand my point of view. Let's get into details. Even if I sell beat lease licenses they still keep some exclusivity and here's how I can do this trick: -I don't offer crazy bulk discounts as other producers do for this specific reason. Imagine that I gave you four beat when you bought one, and I did this for every artist that bought just one beat. It would be straightforward that many rappers will have those same beats. -Prices: Having a higher entry price from most of the competitors I make sure that artist that are not serious about their music does not even think about buying one of my beats, again this helps to increase the "exclusivity" of my lease. -I do this because I don't mind having 10/20/30 songs made on the same beat. Instead, I would prefer to have just one that is a hit. I can just produce a lot of beats that I don't need to sales the same beat 100 times. Indeed I don't think that only because it's a lease license too many people should have the same beat lease licenses. In fact what I want for my beats is to have the right artist on them and I think that not everyone is this person. The reason that made me lease my beats to help this artist to get the chance on rapping on the beat he loves without having to buy an expensive, exclusive license. (I offer both Lease licenses and Exclusive licenses BTW) Other considerations Another thing that a lot of producers do is to give hundreds of beats for free in exchange for your email. This will end making all the rappers that join their email list to have the same beats. I don't really like this idea, and seems that a lot of rappers also usually don't want to use overused beats. This is not the only problem that comes with the free beat strategy; It devalues producers work, but that is another story... Also, I could barely set up a giveaway where rappers could win one beat license. Also, I won't give away too many beats even in this case. I did one giveaway recently, and I don't think that I will do another one for a long time. So, even if I offer the "Free beat license" at the moment, as you could see on my YouTube channel, I don't title my videos with "(Free)" like all the producers do nowadays. So, there won't be too many peoples with the free license. BTW my free licenses are pretty useless if not for evaluation purposes. (As said before, the beats that I give away for free are 100% free, no BS.) BTW I have some 100% Free Beats Too (Let me explain please) I also have some free beats for you guys but that's not my main focus, and I do that only in some particular situations. Like is using samples from other hip-hop/rap/trap producers from popular songs and I don't feel comfortable selling them. Indeed, I consider those as some beat remakes from popular songs... Even if those aren't actual remakes, I just used the samples from that song and flipped it. That's why I don't want to sell them! You can download my free beats from here. And yeah those are 100% free beat licenses, and with that I mean you could also use them commercially. But those have nothing to do with my beat lease licenses and exclusive licenses. Conclusions In conclusion, this is how my beat lease licenses still keep some exclusivity. And with that, I mean that it is improbable that they get overused from rappers all around the world. Hope that you understood what I said and if you have some question regarding this topic just leave a comment, I will reply personally to every one of them.
